The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is an international professional organization of more than 190,000 members. Within the United States, SHRM is organized into seven geographical regions. Each of these states has a State Council that is represented on a SHRM Regional Council by its State Director. Each Regional Council is represented on SHRM’s Membership Advisory Council by one of its State Directors. In Texas, there are nine geographical districts, each with a Director and Assistant Director who maintain regular contact with the chapters in his/her district.

With 35 chapters, the SHRM Texas State Council offers an abundance of expertise and resources for Chapter members. Topical expertise is provided by 12 supportive committees. Each Committee Director is available to work with our chapter in areas such as: membership, diversity, legislation, certification, media relations, and other current interests.

SHRM Foundation

The SHRM Foundation was founded in 1966 as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from the HR profession, including academics, practitioners and representatives from SHRM. The Foundation funds research, publications and education to advance the HR profession and enhance the effectiveness of HR professionals. To support its important work, the SHRM Foundation conducts an annual fundraising campaign. All contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
