Q3 2026 Message from your MCHRA President

Cindy Peters, 2026 President

As we enter the third quarter of 2026, we find ourselves recognizing a historic milestone, America's 250th anniversary. Over the past 250 years, our nation has demonstrated the ability to adapt, innovate, and persevere through times of uncertainty. These same qualities continue to shape the organizations we serve and the HR professionals who help guide them forward.

The story of our nation reminds us that resilience is not the absence of challenge, it is the ability to move forward despite it. As HR leaders, we navigate evolving workforce expectations, emerging technologies, shifting business needs, and unexpected challenges. While change is rarely easy, it often creates opportunities for learning, growth, and leadership. The ability to adapt and remain resilient is not only a professional advantage but an essential skill for success.

This quarter, MCHRA is focused on Personal and Professional Development. Investing in ourselves through continued learning, certification, volunteering, mentoring, or expanding your professional networks, strengthens your ability to support others and lead with confidence.

Often, our greatest growth comes from experiences that encourage us to see things differently, embrace new perspectives, build new skills and step beyond our comfort zones.

As we celebrate our nation's past and look toward its future, I encourage you to invest in opportunities that stretch and inspire you. Attend a program, volunteer for a committee, pursue a new learning opportunity, or connect with a fellow HR professional. Small, intentional steps taken consistently can create meaningful growth and open doors to new possibilities.

Together, we are shaping the future of our profession by developing capable leaders, strengthening resilient workplaces, and fostering a connected HR community. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to MCHRA and for the meaningful role you play in advancing our profession through your service, dedication, and continuous learning. I look forward to engaging with you in the months ahead and celebrating the many ways you continue to grow, lead with impact, and inspire those around you.

Cindy Peters
