Q1 2026 Message from your MCHRA President

Cindy Peters, Mid-Cities HR President

As we welcome 2026, MCHRA stands at a pivotal moment for our profession and our workplaces. This new year invites us not only to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together, but to embrace the powerful trends reshaping how people work, learn, and thrive. Each of you contributes to the collective voice and expertise that make our profession stronger, and I am deeply grateful for the community we continue to build.

Over the past year, we advanced the HR profession through our Employment Law Conference and our partnership with UTA Student SHRM Chapter by providing mock interviews and résumé reviews, efforts that support today’s practitioners while developing tomorrow’s HR leaders.

We strengthened our SHRM community through monthly meetings, social events, and our engagement with HR Southwest conference as Ambassadors and Hub participants. These moments brought leaders together, expanded networking opportunities, and showcased the unique value of belonging to our chapter.

We also expanded our community outreach by partnering with the HEB Chamber of Commercedeepening local connections and promoting the capabilities HR brings to the organizations we serve.

In April, our Board came together to create a strategic plan that reaffirmed our Mission and Core Values and set clear initiatives and operational standards to guide our work in 2026.

Looking ahead, I’m energized by the direction we’ve set. I’m honored to be serving alongside a group of talented and dedicated Board of Directors. This year, our efforts will center on three key priorities: Member Experience, Community Partnerships, and Growth.

These focus areas reflect our commitment to elevating the member journey, strengthening our influence, and ensuring the long-term health and impact of our chapter. We welcome your feedback and ideas which informs our purpose and direction, providing a place where you can be heard, supported and connected. You can reach me at: president@mchra.org.

As President of MCHRA, appreciation goes to each of you for the work you do every day to build better workplaces and, in turn, a better world. Together, we are shaping the future of HR and I’m excited for all we will accomplish in the year ahead. May 2026 be a year of innovation, inclusion, and impact for you, your organizations, and people you serve.

A special thank you to our sponsors and partners for the upcoming employment law conference:
