Building Your HR Brand and Network

Kay Schroeder, PHR, SHRM-CP
HR professionals are asked to wear many hats, and now we're being told we need to build our personal brand, too? If the thought of adding another item to your already long to-do list makes you want to take a nap instead, you'll be glad to know that you already have a brand. The question is whether you're intentionally shaping it and using it to your advantage.
In this interactive session, participants will learn how to identify and define their professional brand and leverage it to support career growth, increase influence, and strengthen professional relationships. We'll explore practical strategies for enhancing visibility, expanding professional networks, and creating a reputation that aligns with personal and professional goals. Through discussion, reflection, and simple exercises, attendees will leave with actionable steps to strengthen their HR brand and network.
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key components of an authentic and effective professional brand.
- Leverage their professional brand to support career and professional goals.
- Apply strategies to increase professional visibility and influence within their organizations and professional communities.
- Develop networking approaches that foster meaningful professional relationships and expand professional reach.
